Seagate Cut HDD Warranty Period?



In order to reduce operational costs, reportedly Seagate hard drives will shorten their warranty, 5 years now only be 2 years.

Even though the news has not been officially released by Seagate, but according to a report written tomshardware, Friday (8/5/2011).

Rumors also mention some of the hard drive is going to cut the warranty period, such as Seagate Barracuda for version 5.900 RPM and 7,200 RPM on a range capacity of 500 GB to 2 TB.

While another version that also cut the warranty period is Green Momentus series, ie, measuring 2.5-inch hard drives are widely used in notebooks. While the hard drive allocated to the enterprise reported no change in the warranty period.
