Parents often worry about the kids too much exposure to pornographic content via the internet. Rather, children are probably even more exposed to pornography via the internet rather than television or music ..
This phenomenon is expressed Michele Ybarra, President of Internet Solutions for Kids at the meeting of the American Psychological Association. According to him, what happens when this assumption is the child most nasty content access via the internet. But apparently, they tend to be more vulnerable to exposure to sex via television and music.
Research results show, exposure to sexual material to children is through television with the highest percentage of 75% and music followed by 69%. While the internet just got a percentage of about 25%.
On the other hand, some expressed the opinion the internet be a means of harassment or cyber bullying. But in his research, Ybarra claimed 62% of young people said that never had such negative experiences.
Ybarra study involving 1588 children aged 10-15 years and will dipubliksikan in psychology journal Pediatrics. He will examine the respondents until next year.
"We followed them until their teens to understand how involvement in technology affect their behavior," he told a conference attended by about 13 thousand psychologists.
Quoted from USAToday on Monday (08/08/2011), also examines the phenomenon of sexting Ybarra aka exchanging sex content via mobile phones. I've had it just a little boy who never did, which is about 5%.
