10 Month, Hitachi Virtual Storage 1000 Coverage

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) tread quite encouraging results in the realm of cloud computing foundation. In less than a year, vendors from Japan has sent more than 1,000 virtual storage system platform (VSP) to hundreds of customers.

Inevitably, with that much volume, VSP successfully expand its presence in the market, while making the most successful product introductions in the history of Hitachi Data Systems.

The enterprise segment customers from various industries have been regarded as transforming the data center by deploying cloud computing foundation so that the glance of virtual storage platform. Among those customers is Thorough Datacentre (Malaysia), Academica Sinica (Taiwan) and Kiwibank (Australia).

"Many organizations continue to look for a simple but effective solution to build and manage virtualized data center that reduces risk and operational costs, improve continuity and increase return on storage assets," said Hu Yoshida, Chief Technology Officer of Hitachi Data Systems.

"VSP is the cornerstone of Hitachi's vision to transform the data base (data center) became the center of information (information center), where access to content is going smoothly in a virtualized environment," he said, in a written statement on Friday (05/08/2011).

VSP claimed Users will gain the ability increase (scale-up), expand (scale-out) and deepen (scale-deep) so that data center scalability achieved cost savings and level of alertness in the virtualized data center.

"Through the ability to migrate data and page-level dynamic tiering, companies can narrow the lag time and the suspension system to move data automatically to the most appropriate storage location so that simplify and optimize cost and performance tier," said Hu.

Claims a recent survey of TechValidate, an independent research institute which provides customer data from a third party to the company, says that more than half the company's enterprise-class enhanced Hitachi VSP has increased the performance level of 50 percent. Factors driving force is the ability to conquer challenges that platform simplifies storage management.
