Samsung Want to Block iPhone5 in Europe


The fight Apple and Samsung increasingly hot. After experiencing several setbacks lawsuit against Apple in various countries, Samsung is preparing a counterattack. They plan to block the sale of the iPhone 5, not only in South Korea but also Europe.

By Reuters on Thursday (22/09/2011), a corresponding source states accused the iPhone 5 Samsung wireless technology violates a patent. Therefore, Samsung wants to hinder sales of the iPhone 5 in some areas before the case was completed.


"Market speculation that Samsung is preparing legal action to block sales of the iPhone 5 is likely true," said media sources quoted by the Financial Times.

After the defeat in Australia as well as in a German court to ban the Galaxy Tab 10.1 sold there, Samsung started choosing aggressive steps against Apple. One of them by targeting the iPhone 5, the handset will reportedly be introduced in October.

"We are preparing a legal suit Apple's aggressive opponent, no longer defensive. We have a good chance to win if we put on patents related to wireless telecommunications standards. Wireless technologies such as WCDMA and HSPA is crucial to a mobile phone. So this could be a big weapon for us," said Samsung statement.

Analysts said Samsung wants to block the marketing of natural newest iPhone in South Korea since at home, they better have a chance to win. While Europe is an important market the iPhone so if Samsung won the case there, iPhone sales could be slightly weakened.
